Job Description

Our ClientZentia is the UKs independent market leader in complete ceiling solutions. Evolved from Armstrong Ceiling Solutions and with over 100 years of knowledge and experience, Zentia provides a complete range of future-proof ceiling solutions to its UK specifier,contractor, and distributor partners.Zentias two manufacturing plants are located in Team Valley, UK, with one producing mineral fibre tiles and one for ceiling grids. Zentia operates sales teams in the UK and Ireland, as well as trading in Spain, Portugal, and the Baltic States. Zentia is wellpositioned in these markets, highly profitable, and will also benefit from significant investment in the coming 3-5 years in order to expand the production capability of both manufacturing sites.The OpportunityReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing engineering projects and implementation of extensive capital investment for the grid manufacturing plant based in Gateshead. You will work closely with equipment suppliers to take fullownership from specification to commissioning and installation of new technology into the plant. This will include effectively managing supplier and contractors on site on time to budget. You will also work closely with the capable and pro-active maintenance team; you will provide higher level technical engineering support to the plant along with identify and maximising opportunities for process improvement on the plant. This is a site undergoingfurther capital investment to support Zentias wider strategic growth ambitions.You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development of the site including new equipment introductions, current equipment layout and plant layout.
  • Providing an effective project engineering and technical engineering service to the plant production and maintenance teams.
  • Problem solving to enable the plant to meet the expectations of customers.
  • Providing recommendations, estimates and business cases for plant capital budget.
  • Identifying and delivering process improvement projects to maximise site performance
About YouAs an experienced Project Engineer, you will have considerable experience in delivering capital equipment projects and new technology into complex batch manufacturing site. You will have well developed communication skills to effectively manage contractorsand suppliers to successfully commission and install new equipment to hand over to Operations. Whilst given confidence to the Senior Management Team, you will demonstrate the ability to pro-actively manage the project delivery to anticipate potential challengesand solutions to ensure on time to budget. Previous experience gained in supporting Operations in ongoing process improvement activities and providing more technical engineering expertise to an extremely capable maintenance team would be advantageous.This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative manufacturing business that is investing extensively for the future.
