MTrecs New Opportunity;MTrec Technical are proudly representing our Heavy Engineering Client, based in Gateshead, with their internal growth. We are supporting their recruitment process, by recruiting 5 permanent Production Operatives to join their team. A successful candidatewill be responsible for being a part of the plant operations team, you will work to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation. The role is varied and can be challenging and may vary day-to-day. If you are an experience ProductionOperator, with experience within heavy engineering, apply now for an immediate response.The Job youll Do;
  • Ensure that you maintain a high level of housekeeping. That your identified work areas are maintained, adhering to 5S standards, including shadow. boards, the storage and location of equipment, colour coding of equipment, cleaning and appropriate maintenanceof equipment and health and safety.
  • Provide support to new team members and where appropriate your knowledge and experience to support on the job training of new employees and existing employees .
  • Ensures that you adhere to required policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with the Companies PPE Policy.
  • Comply with team briefings and other communication activities in accordance with the latest organisational requirements, to enable effective communication.
  • Operating various automated systems across various department/processes.
  • Operating various FLT equipment.
  • Following SOPs across various processes along the production line.
  • Further training and development through courses, qualifications.
About You;
  • Experience working within a heavy engineering environment or similar.
  • Experience operating various systems.
  • Willingness to train and develop.
  • Available to work every third weekend as overtime is essential.
  • Full/Clean Driving license is desirable.
  • Ability to work shifts and other hours as reasonably required in line with job role requirements. Able to work overtime shifts and at short notice when business dictates.
  • Willingness to become multi-skilled. Full training will be provided (within an individual agreed timescale).
  • Have a working understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools within a high volume, high quality manufacturing facility.
