The CompanyNigel Wright are currently working with an established food manufacturing business that are really looking to strengthen their NPD team.The RoleThis is a newly created role, with exposure across multiple sites within the UK and Europe. Brining together NPD and factory trials, this is a great opportunity for an NPD technologist looking for their next challenge within food manufacturing.Responsibilities include:• Developing recipes that are acceptable from a food safety point of view but also to target cost and waste levels that deliver competitive advantage.•Working with / alongside wider NPD team to ensure all EPD/NPD SKUs are functional on existing equipment while working with technical/operations where existing processes may needs to be amended/updated.• Capturing all associated NPD ingredient and trial costs. Liaising with NPD Project Managers on laboratory costs.• To work with multi manufacturing sites and multi-channel projects on product portfolio• Take new / existing product developments through to the full factory trial process including but not limited to; trial requests, completion of full trial reports, data capture, collating samples for nutritional and micro testing, customers where required,organoleptic testing and completing QAS documents.• Working in conjunction with wider NPD Team, Technical, Operations and Engineering to ensure any defects and faults/issues/affecting NPD trials/launches are resolved.• Identifying new ingredients that need to be reviewed by the HACCP team.RequirementsWe are ideally looking for someone who has the following experience:• Food Science based degree preferable and/or considerable experience innovation / food manufacturing• Team player and able to work collaboratively with wider NPD team and numerous internal and external suppliers/customers.• Good organisational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
