WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOUWestray Recruitment Group are seeking a Powder Coater to join our client based in Gateshead. The company in question are offering a permanent contract for the right candidate. This is a dayshift only role.THE BUSINESSOur client has established a great reputation within the industry and pride themselves on their customer service. They make a wide range of bespoke engineering solutions and are looking to expand their team due to an ever-growing order book.THE ROLE Powder Coat and paint product to satisfactory standard in line with works instructions. Visually checking / inspecting product through paint cycle. Carry out non-destructive and destructive tests (e.g. dry film thickness and cross hatch adhesion tests) checks and record the results accordingly. To self-check and be accountable for own quality of work. To assist colleagues in the manual handling of jobs within the factory when requested. Responsible for accurate time and job costing recording using Kelio computerised terminals. Identify and report internal nonconformities. Assist in providing short term and long-term corrective and preventative actions. Provide suitable and safe on-the-job Paint Shop training for other employees as and when necessary. Responsible for reporting to Supervision any problems with Paint Shop. Responsible for working tools and equipment. Responsible for housekeeping in immediate vicinity within the Paint Shop. Responsible for plant and equipment to be turned off at end of shift. Loading and unloading vans. Unwrapping / wrapping product. Preparing substrate prior to painting (e.g. abrading, degreasing etc).
