Job Description

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be working exclusively with WHP in the search for a Planning Engineer, based in Gateshead.Main Purpose of JobThe Planning Engineer is required to develop the most appropriate method for engineering documents, construction activities within a project, in conjunction with the Project and Commercial Managers, in order to ensure the project is completed timely, safely,and on budget. Using Primavera P6 EPPM as the chosen software.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities under supervision will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Develop and monitor projects ensuring they are fully baselined, resource loaded, labour costed, and logic linked in accordance with planning processes.
  • Schedules should contain all agreed activities, deliverables, milestones, client deliverables and should be based on the standard Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Selects the most appropriate techniques and logical sequence of activities to complete project scope
  • Work with Project Managers, Finance Managers and Project team to aid in ensuring project schedules are accurately maintained and resource loaded.
  • Creation of regular reports for both internal and external customers, adhering to client and contractual requirements
  • Perform critical path analysis and advise of possible actions and areas of concern.
  • Aid with scenario modelling for any potential project change and be able to provide risks, issues, cost, resource and delay analysis.
  • Work Closely with Engineering, construction sites and higher levels of management to ensure cohesion between these different activities and the main Project Schedule.
Requirements:
  • Primavera experience is essential (P6)
  • PC literate with experience in the use of Windows packages (Word, Excel, etc).
  • Self-motivated with sound interpersonal skills coupled with a confident style of behaviour.
  • Good attention to detail and good time management.
  • Good presentational skills.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to provide solutions to issues.
  • Strong communication.
  • NEC, option A,B,C,D and/or FIDIC experience is required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in planning of Engineering activities and Execution of works in construction / Cleanroom pharmaceutical sectors is preferred.
