Job Description

THE ROLEWorking across the Education sector my client offers outsourced support working closely with schools to provide a comprehensive range of technology solutions. Due to growth, they are now looking to add to their current IT Field Technician team.You will join an organisation that has a real family feel and one which takes care of its employees.Salary:£25,000Location:Based from Gateshead, but working across the region.Hybrid working: No. You will be working across a number of sites for this role.Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, MondayFriday (core hours 08:00 - 16:00)Holidays: 25 days, plus bank holidaysThe business has grown substantially over the last year taking on more customers and has built a strong reputation in the Northeast for the quality of support it provides.DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIESAs a IT Field Technician you will be based from the Gateshead Head Office however your day to day will be across a network of schools throughout Northumberland and Tyne & Wear you will be responsible for providing predominantly 1st and 2nd line support in person.The work is varied, no week will be the same and you will get the chance to build up your relationship with the customers over time.

  • Troubleshoot across the network including but not limited to the repair/replacement of faulty components in computers, laptops, iPads, projectors, printers, and other ICT equipment.
  • Hardware and software fixes.
  • End User Support
  • Resolving Wi-Fi issues
  • You will be comfortable will be comfortable managing/maintaining, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policies.
  • Experience working across Microsoft 365 and troubleshooting across IT peripherals.
  • Take ownership of problems through to resolution.
  • Liaise with external parties for escalated support when required.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service.
YOUR SKILLSThis is great opportunity to join a fantastically supportive team.The ideal candidate will come with a degree of experience providing 2nd Line Support however there are opportunities to learn new skills and grow within the role.You will be able to demonstrate:
  • Previous 2nd Line Support experience covering the day-to-day responsibilities above.
  • Understanding of MS Windows operating systems.
  • A good knowledge of local area networks.
  • Full current drivers licence and access to a car.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • A positive approach to problem solving.
  • A self-learner who can be resourceful in figuring out answers to problems.
  • Communication skills are a must, need to be able to communicate well with end clients and colleagues, you will often be the face of the business.
  • DBS will be required for the role but not essential to be in place to start.
