Job Description

Based in Gateshead this growing business is looking to recruit and experienced Account Manager to join their team.Reporting to the Commercial Manager this position will be responsible for developing long-term relationships and building commercial opportunities with a portfolio of customers.Liaising between customers and cross functional internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of products and services according to the customers needs.The customer base is diverse ranging from the multiples, high street retailers, garden centres to ecommerce only businesses, corporate businesss and covers many different routes to market, trade, wholesale dropshipping and direct to consumer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating as the primary contact for all matters between a customer and the business.
  • Building and maintaining a knowledgeable, expert and commercial relationship with the customer.
  • Provide strategy and plans supported by sales analysis to grow customer accounts.
  • Overseeing customer account management, including negotiating contract, pricing etc.
  • Be able to recognise new business opportunities with current and potential customers.
  • Forecast and track key account performance.
  • Prepare account reports and information for the Sales and Operations Manager.
  • Work with the sales team to identify and grow new business opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Ideally proven experience as an Account Manager, Junior Account Manager although we would invite applications from new Graduates.
  • Demonstrate and ability to communicate, present to be able to build relationships.
  • An ability to be able to juggle multiple account management projects at a time whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Good listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and numerical skills.
