Job Description

  • To ensure the wellbeing and safety of the children at all times
  • To be able to take care of children
  • The ability to lead a team effectively with demonstrable experience of this
  • The ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents to ensure the child is at the heart of everything that we do
  • To promote the crche and the activities on offer in a positive way at all times
  • Ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment for children, staff and visitors.
  • To ensure age-appropriate activities are on offer at all times in order to make sure the children are stimulated and enjoy their time at the crche.
  • To be aware of and implement policies, procedures and guidelines especially around safeguarding children
  • To undertake further training where appropriate, to update skills and knowledge
  • Any other duties which are appropriate to the nature of the post
Essential Criteria
  • A minimum of CCLD level 5 in childcare, level 7 or 8 preferable with play work at a level 2 (at a minimum) Advanced higher certificate preferred or equivalent.
  • A clear understanding and knowledge of Ousted and EYFS standards and requirements
  • A team player with strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to write reports/policies and procedures and maintain and adhere to standards.
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Willingness to take further training
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work unsocial hours and weekends if required
Experience
  • Management within an early years setting (minimum 2 years )
  • Promotion of a setting using networking skills and social media
Desirable
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a car
  • Experience working with disadvantaged communities and groups
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Knowledge of issues faced by young parents
