Job Description

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOUCNC Machine OperatorDayshift only4-day week£13.26 p/hOvertime Time & Half / double time after first 10 hoursTemp - Permanent contractTHE BUSINESSWestray Recruitment Group are seeking an CNC Operator to join our client based in Gateshead. The company in question are a leading engineering manufacturer who were founded over 100 years ago. They provide engineering solutions and support to a wide rangeof industries all over the world.THE ROLE

  • Working with medium to heavy components up to 16t, setting and operating CNC Horizontal Borer (G&L) to produce a wide range of precision products to standards required by the customer (Specifications and quality standards).
  • Receives CNC programme and tooling information, edits programmes, sets up tools and assists with loading materials onto machines.
  • Making settings and adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish conforms as per drawing requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties as directed by management within capabilities.
  • Work appropriate shift patterns/overtime as required to ensure satisfactory completion of projects.
THE PERSON
  • Minimum time served with an NVQ Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship and gained machining experience in a similar environment of medium to heavy engineering using techniques and procedures to ensure quality machined products.
  • A working knowledge of both conventional and CNC Machines and the tooling and machine setups required to produce machined components.
  • A working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems and ISO 14001 Series Environmental Practice.
