The role is full time across three-night shifts on a rolling rota across the week (33 hours per week). Some additional shifts will be required from time to time to cover sickness and holidays.We are looking for a caring person to join the night shift care team at The Chesters Care Home in Low Fell, Gateshead, where we support up to 33 older people with residential and dementia care needs. We want someone who is committed to providing high-quality,person-centred care and making The Chesters a home from home for our residents.Responsibilities: Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Clients, when required with personal care including washing, continence, dressing, undressing and any other night time needs. Provide for peoples care needs with compassion and understanding ensuring that clients retain their dignity and comfort at all times. Perform night checks and assist clients during the night as directed by senior staff Observe care planning needs for Clients and complete written records as instructed and in line with the Companys policies and procedures. Answer the Nurse Call System, giving assistance as required.Care Assistant - Experience, qualifications & skills: Genuine interest in working within a caring environment Diploma Level 2 in Health and social care or above (preferred but not necessary) Ability to communicate effectively with clients and work colleagues Satisfactory DBS Check and two references Experience of working with the elderlyExperience of the following an advantage: Care Assistant, medication administration, care planningDisclosure: The successful candidate will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the relevant body.No agencies please.
