Job Description

Central Employment are pleased to be working with a successful packaging manufacturer based in Gateshead. Due to growth they are currently looking for an Administration Assistant, to assist their toolroom coordinator.Purpose of the Administration Assistant:The purpose of the Administration Assistant is to support the Toolroom Coordinator to manage the day to day activities of the department. The is a key role within the organisation requiring the successful applicant to display a wide range of skills and attributes.Key Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with customers by phone, email and in person to process new requirements and discuss deadlines
  • Sales order processing and raising of relevant internal order documentation including creating quotations and obtaining purchase orders
  • Adding new orders to the departmental works plan
  • Scheduling and planning small departmental resources to ensure customer delivery dates are met
  • Attendance at the morning planning meeting to present and discuss daily planner
  • Ongoing monitoring of the progress of all orders throughout the day to ensure deadlines are met
  • Organisation of daily shipments to customer via our courier
  • Invoicing completed work
  • Preparing customer invoice schedules
  • General office duties e.g filing, preparation for customer visits
  • Supporting the toolroom coordinator in specific tasks and projects as appropriate
  • Purchasing duties, internal distribution of cut lists and picking of order components from stock for allocation to production team
  • Assist with monthly stock for stores & vending machines
Essential Experience:
  • Highly organised and able to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-moving environment working to strict deadlines
  • Resilient and capable of operating under pressure
  • Personable and able to deal with a wide range of customers over the telephone and in person
  • Excellent administration skills and proficiency in MS Office software an din particular Excel and MS Project
