Job Description

Spark of Genius Childrens Service is part of the CareTech Family. Established in 1993, CareTech is a leading nationwide social care provider delivering a package of high quality, individually tailored care and support solutions to children, young people, and adults across the UK.Spark of Genius is a high quality provider of specialist care in small therapeutic residential homes and education, both for children and young people with a diverse range of social, emotional and mental health needs.We are currently looking to appoint a Residential Manager to assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the house supported by the Assistant Manager and Senior Practitioner/s. As the Registered Manager, you will ensure the effective and efficient running of the service, including ensuring staff engagement, development and performance in their contribution to delivery of the service. Reporting to the Service Manager, youwill ensure a high standard of practice in line with internal and external expectations, standards and legislation, of which you should have a sound knowledge.Essential:

  • Managerial experience, supporting young people and staff in a residential environment.
  • Ideally you should possess or be working towards a Diploma in Social Work or equivalent
  • SVQ Level 4 in Social Care plus any management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above
  • HNC In Social Care
  • The post holder will be required to register and maintain an appropriate registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.

Due to the nature of the role, it will be necessary for all Residential Childcare Workers to be subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and achieve membership of the scheme prior to commencing work with us.All candidates must be successfully registered with the SSSC within 6 months of employment. Any data received in applications will be used for recruitment purposes within Spark of Genius and CareTech only.
