The Croft is a tier 4 children’s unit offering day and inpatient mental health care to children aged 0-12 and their families. The unit works intensively with children and their families offering admissions to assess children’s strengths and difficulties and identify effective approaches to interventions.The unit admits children with highly complex and challenging mental health difficulties including autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, conduct difficulties, attachment disorders etc. We also provide a service for assessing parenting capacity where parents have significant mental health difficulties.The post-holder will work as part of a Tier 4 Regional Multi-Disciplinary Mental Health team including psychiatrists, nurses, family therapist, occupational therapy, teachers and a social worker. The post-holder will provide a qualified clinical psychology service including highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy and offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to colleagues and to other, non professional carers.The Croft is part of a campus of Tier 4 CAMHS services which includes The Phoenix Centre for adolescents with severe eating disorders and the Darwin Centre Adolescent In-Patient Unit. There are close working links across the three units.There are excellent opportunities for teaching and training. We are a Cambridge University Teaching Trust with strong links to the Department of Psychiatry and also to University of East Anglia, Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology . You will be part of the Cambridge CAMHS Psychology team which meets regularly and provides well developed supervision structures.
