Job Description

End User Computing EngineerCambridge6 month contract with a potential to extendThis role is working as part of a team which delivers a secure and effective end user computing environment to our customers. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring all Desktop, Laptop and Mobile Devices are fully patched with the latest security andfeature updates and ensuring software is built, tested and deployed to users as efficiently and quickly as possible.Duties

  • To be responsible for the building, testing and installation of new software packages to customers through deployment tools. The post holder should also proactively develop software packages that can be deployed to customers via Self Service portals
  • Responsible for expensive complex IT equipment, including the installation of licenced software, repair and maintenance and security of IM&T equipment
  • Ensure all software and operating systems installed on all End User devices, are up to date with the latest patches and version releases, ensuring they are fully tested before release
  • Maintain Active Directory including the OU structure, group polies and global access groups
  • Configuration, Installation and maintenance of all hardware and software necessary for the efficient provision of services
  • To be responsible for the prompt escalation of all suspected security incidents to ICT Security Management
  • To be responsible for ensuring the timely resolution of incidents and fulfilment of customer requests, especially through active engagement with the Problem Management.
  • Provide early life support to users following the release of new software or patches
  • To act as a specialist in IT Software such as; Windows, Office, Visio, Project, SystmOne, EMIS Web etc
