Job Description

Early Intervention in Psychosis Clinical AdvisorThe East of England Regional Mental Health Team (which includes the Mental Health Clinical Network) has an exciting opportunity for an Early Intervention in Psychosis Clinical Advisor to provide clinical expertise and leadership to the EIP work programme.The role is for a fixed term / secondment for 18 months for 0.2WTE, commencing April 2021 and will be based in Fulbourn, Cambridge. This role is open to a range of senior professionals with a specialist knowledge and experience of the current EIP Long Term Plan ambitions. The work will include travel across the region.The Regional Mental Health Team adopts a ‘whole system’ approach to healthcare design, working with commissioners and providers of healthcare aiming to reduce variation and improve quality of care. The work programme of the regional mental health team supports NHSE/I priorities, which includes many health initiatives to improve care, from diagnosis through to treatments, enabling a more patient-centered focus in line with the NHS long term plan ambitions.The Mental Health Programme team undertake a broad programme of activities to support STPs / ICSs including commissioners and providers with their core purpose of quality improvement and ultimately benefit patient and population health outcomes.The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team to provide the clinical support and expertise to help STP’s /ICS’s and CCGs to develop and deliver their delivery plans.The overarching objectives of the role are:

  • Provide clinical advice and clinical leadership to the EIP work programme and on occasion as part of the wider community mental health work programme.
  • To support commissioning and delivery of high quality EIP services across the East of England, including supporting focused project work on ARMS, 14-65 services and measurement of outcomes.
  • Lead and offer clinical advice at network meetings and events.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation to support the delivery of equitable, high quality care.
  • Foster and promote a culture of clinical engagement and influence ensuring network structures which support widespread multidisciplinary involvement from across EIP.
  • Ensure representation and engagement of stakeholders from EIP, including (but not limited to) commissioners, providers, VCS and patients/public in the work programme.
  • Offer clinical advice to clinical teams, commissioners and others, acting as a clinical spokesperson where required.
  • Understand, communicate and support the implementation of clinical policy relating to EIP.
  • By undertaking all of the above, contribute to the delivery of quality and equitable care for patients across the East of England.
