Job Description

Internal Sales Support (Fixed Instruments)Location: Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire, SG8 7SLSalary: Competitive, DOE + CommissionContract: Full time, PermanentHours: Monday - Friday 08.30am to 5.00pmWe are a leading gas detection company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of innovative gas sensors and detectors. Due to continued growth of the business a new role within our export sales team has become available. We believe developing our staff is key to success and a range of training (in house and external) are available and encouraged.Internal Sales Support - About the role:Your primary role will be supporting our global sales network with first class pre and post sales support. To achieve this, you will be working with a cross-functional team of engineers, sales managers and marketers, proactively meeting the challenges of a busy global sales office. You will use your expertise to advise our customers by phone and email. Progress the sales pipeline and create marketing content and sales tools. (Full training on our specialist products will be given).You’ll also act as the bridge between our users and our product teams to ensure we’re acting on their feedback and continually driving the development of the product.The Role will report to the Business Unit Manager (Fixed & Specialist Units) and will involve the following:

  • Act as the first point of contact for sales enquiries, providing vital sales support during the fixed instrument sales process
  • Providing vital sales support during the fixed instrument sales process, acting as the first point of contact for all fixed instrument sales enquiries.
  • Primarily be responsible for the day-to-day administration of CRM system (Hubspot) progressing sales and producing reports and analysis on the sales pipeline.
  • Supporting sales, to ensure all targets are met, by progressing the sales pipeline. Converting Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and progressing sales qualified leads (SQLs) to sales with relevant subsidiaries and distributors.
  • Provide commercial and technical sales support to the Export Sales team, existing customers - subsidiaries and distributor networks, as well as our end users across our range of existing products.
  • Review and update our support documents, to ensure they meet the needs of our customers, researching and creating new content as required.
  • Become a fixed instruments champion, both internally and externally, by learning and understanding all aspects of the fixed instrument range of products and technologies. Ensuring the division is represented within the company and promoted outwardly.
  • Generating sales quotations on behalf of the sales team and send them to the prospective customer, subsidiary or distributor if requested.
  • Supporting Fixed instruments at trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings as required.
  • Internal Sales Support - The Person: Previous experience in sales support roles or problem solving in a technical environment would be highly beneficial but not essential.
  • Science or engineering HND + experience
  • Have user empathy, and have an aptitude for fostering user relationships that resonate and engage long lasting collaboration.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools and administration.
  • Have an appreciation of technical aspects with a good degree of commercial acumen and the desire to learn.
  • Be goal driven and understand the pressures of achieving sales target.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in written form, able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people.
  • Have high customer focus.
  • Be capable of working independently as well as in a team
  • Be self-motivated and proactive in problem solving
  • Have a methodical and systematic approach
  • Have pride in their work and a job well done
