Job Description

Goods Inward InspectorLocation: Fowlmere, CambridgeshireSalary: Competitive, DOEContract: Full time, PermanentHours: Monday - Friday 08.30am to 5.00pmAn exciting opportunity has become available in a fast growing, well established gas detection company.Goods Inward Inspector - About the role:The role of Goods Inwards Inspector is to verify the conformity of parts from suppliers and in-house manufactured, to ensure that these meet the company’s specificationThe Role will report to the Operational Quality Manager and will involve the following:

  • Inspect product coming into the company to ensure it meets the requirement.
  • This will include those for production.
  • Product development,
  • Test fixturing.
  • Inspect product from the production line.
  • Create and ensure comprehensive complete and auditable inspection records are maintained
  • Liaise with other internal departments e.g., production, engineering etc. to resolve manufacturing issues, where identified by the Quality Team.
  • Ensure Inspection equipment is safe and well maintained.
  • Quarantine any products that have any issues until they are resolved.
  • Support continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Maintain the 6S requirements in the inspection area.
    • Goods Inward Inspector - The Person: This is a hands-on role and the person appointed will: -
  • Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Flexible to meet business needs. Thrives in a fast-paced working environment
  • Able to juggle a wide range of tasks.
  • Meets the company’s Core values.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Able to work to tight timescales whilst maintaining quality standards.
  • Competent in the use of Verniers, Callipers, Micrometres, and gauges, Automatic measuring equipment and Voltmeters
  • Able to read drawings, schematics, and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the products.
  • The ability to use a wide range of inspection and test equipment in line with engineering drawings, the quality management system and documented instructions.
    • Technical Qualities:
  • An ONC/HNC in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • Previous working experience to ISO accreditations is a strong advantage (ISO 9001 etc.)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
