Our client is seeking a Shipping & Logistics Co-ordinator to work at their offices near Alton. They are one of a global group of companies which is headquartered in America. They buy and sell equipment globally meaning importing, exporting and drop shipping are all areas you will need to be capable in. They sell to both civilian and military markets, and on occasions specific import/export licenses will fall under the responsibility of this role.You will be responsible for the following;• Co-ordination of all goods and product shipments on behalf of the company• Processing quotations, booking shipments, and managing freight forwarders• Completion of all customs documentation including special licensing where required• Providing status updates on shipments to the rest of the team• Receiving, checking, and booking goods in• Maintain department tidiness and stock of packaging materials• Physical packing of itemsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS• Experience in import/export logistics and customs • Understanding of customs processes• Good communicator with attention to detail• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as part of a wider team• Able to prioritise own workload, good administration skills• The role will be heavily PC based so computer literacy is a mustFull time position - 37.5 hours per week. Working conditions are normal for office and warehouse operation.
