Job Description

Pay: MPS+1 SEN pointStart Date: October 2020Are you an excellent practitioner with a passion for supporting children with Additional Needs If this is you, then please read on.We are looking for a part time Assistant SENCo to start as soon as possible, working three days per week, to support our Assistant Headteacher in the delivery and management of high quality Special Needs Education throughout the school. This post is to cover 9 months Maternity Leave and will end on 31/08/2021.This is a non-class based role and an ideal opportunity for someone already qualified as a SENCo or for someone thinking about the next step in their career. You will be working alongside our Assistant Head supporting children from Early Years (including Nursery) to Year 6 and would be involved in all aspects of the SENCo role. A suitable candidate should feel they have the experience or the potential to:

  • Support colleagues to meet the needs of individual children
  • Work in close collaboration with staff
  • Support individual children in their learning
  • Liaise regularly with parents / carers
  • Contact and work with a wide variety of professionals
  • Complete and monitor provision maps / paperwork to support children
  • Chair professionals meetings
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for statutory assessment and high needs funding
  • Castle Hill has an excellent reputation for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and we are looking for someone to join us in our vision for inclusion and support. We have a much higher than average number of children identified as having Additional Needs and we pride ourselves in the education that they receive.We would also be willing to discuss opportunities for training or to talk to someone who would prefer a more full time role.
