Intelligence Analyst - SC Clearance required - National Crime AgencyFolkestone (SE Folkest)IR35: In ScopeContract length: 6 months 01/06/2020- 30/11/2020£451 per dayRole:Tocontribute to the acquisition and development of tactical and strategic intelligence (through targeted research, open source searches, behavioural, analytical, comparative studies and/or prevention initiatives focused on serious and organised crime affecting the UK.- Intelligence officer to carry out data entry, triage, assess, de-conflict, develop and enhance intelligence at pace, without detriment or loss of integrity to good practice, tasking protocols and legal standards.- Provide advice on legislation, policy, research and tactical options to assist in the planning and implementation of investigations, operations and prevention initiatives.- Conduct initial assessments to evaluate the abilities and needs of victims/witnesses, and decide on the use of intermediaries during the investigation / interview process- Provide tactical and strategic support to the Agency by conducting research, gathering and analysing intelligence and evidence in accordance with legislation and policy.- Develop target profiles, evidential products and identify prevention opportunities, (as appropriate).- Conduct statistical analysis to inform management reports.- Ensure the quality, secure handling and dissemination of intelligence, maintaining confidentiality, sensitivity and a duty of care in line with Agency policy.- Carry out effective case management, and create, maintain and update departmental records, including operational or project/programme spreadsheets, case files and monthly reports. Conduct cross match searches, and analyse results using forensic data (as appropriate).Person:- Aptitude to generate intelligence products using; analysis, inference building and development of hypotheses, to identify intelligence gaps and opportunities.- An understanding of relevant legislation affecting the role such as CPIA and DPA.- A good understanding of basic IT including Microsoft Word and Excel.- A broad appreciation of organised criminality.- An awareness of law enforcement, prevention techniques and intelligence gathering capabilities.- Good understanding of UK legislation affecting Agency activity.- Broad appreciation of organised criminality, nationally and internationally- An understanding of law enforcement, prevention techniques and intelligence gathering capabilities- Comprehensive working knowledge of investigative strategies and techniques used in serious crime investigations- Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities within the police service, major incident rooms (MIRSAP) and the Forensic Service in the investigation of serious crime.- Understanding of NPCC good practice and guidance into the investigation of serious crime (e.g. MIRSAP and MIM)
