Our client is a well-acclaimed water management consultancy who provide water treatment/hygiene and legionella services to clients throughout the UK. They are now looking for an experienced and versatile Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team based in the Cambridge area. The successful candidate will ideally have extensive experience carrying out routine water hygiene duties in line with the ACOP L8 guidelines such as cleaning and chlorination on hot and cold water systems and cooling towers. Consideration will be given to candidates from Bury St. Edmunds, Bedford, Ely, Bishops Stortford and the surrounding areas. Qualification/Experience: The applicant must come from a good educational, chemical and technical background and must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines. Will have hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Packages.Key Duties Will Include:Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, changing and replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.Undertaking monitoring of air and water systems and ensuring compliance with the current Health and Safety legislation.Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.Providing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.Some remedial plumbing work to be carried out as required.
