Job Description

Time Appointments are thrilled to be working on behalf of an industry leading logistics business based in Felixstowe. Our client is looking for a bright candidate with one year’s shipping experience to join their busy and progressive team. This client is well established in the shipping industry and has a growing network of offices worldwide. They pride themselves on building long term relationships with their customers and offer a wealth of exciting opportunities within the business.Key Duties:

  • Obtaining quotes from overseas agents for any airfreight consignments, preparing & submitting quotes to customer for approval
  • Provide excellent customer services and operational duties such as; contacting customers, Shippers, ocean carriers, agents, warehouses, customs brokers and other vendors in the UK and internationally for import and export shipments coordination, issuing and handling, Import and export documents, hiring and dispatching trucks, collecting and checking bills, Coordinating payment to vendors and invoicing customers.
  • Updating freight rates to customer as required for full containers
  • Daily communication with customer
  • Inputting of all shipping data onto in house system to create job files.
  • Creation of all necessary documents from data entered onto in house system
  • Coordinating with client to obtain all necessary documents for customs clearance purposes and Original Bill of Lading for Release / Delivery.
  • Releasing cargo on Destin 8 / CNS.
    • To be considered for this role you must have at least one year’s shipping experience.
