We apply our in-depth domain knowledge, facilities and specialist expertise to produce trusted, practical, instrumented environments and action-oriented advice that enables clients to make informed procurement and operational decisions with authority and insight.QinetiQs anti-submarine team are renowned for their independent and specialist advice to frontline customers, providing operational support, advising on technology, analysing systems and proposing system improvements. We are currently looking for an experienced engineer to join the team, to lead and deliver technical activities, as well as provide advice that will directly impact defence operations. This is a hands-on role, in a vibrant team with growing demands both in the UK and internationally.You will have an interest in airborne anti-submarine activities, with deep or broad experience in one or more of the following; sonobuoy and acoustic sensor technologies, sensor and platform telemetry methods, use of RF in operational environments, acoustic signal processing, data formats and rates, data acquisition and display, pre-deployment calibration and test, bespoke equipment development and acoustic environmental impact assessments.Your experience may be at a detailed technical level, or be at enterprise level, where you would have broader knowledge of the overall system performance and operational context, MOD procurement procedures and processes and a well-developed approach to supporting customers and internal stakeholders with development of future systems and services.You will spend the majority of your time onsite at Farnborough, with some travel within the UK and internationally depending on activity need. Through this role, you will be a member of the systems engineering discipline, which provides a broad professional network in addition to project environment.Key Responsibilities:
