Job Description

First Achieves Engineering Division are seeking a proactive Quality Engineer with extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems, project quality management and supplier quality management.The succesful candidate must be comfortable conducting and facilitating audits internally and externally with customers and suppliers.Salary: Circa £45,000Company Pension: 8% Contribution by employer.Monday to Friday Staff Position, with long term development & Progression Opportunities.Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

  • Ability to maintain and improve the integrated management system, identify, and initiate improvements, to ensure the continued accreditation of the system.
  • Ownership of project & operational quality issues, supporting, aligning, and communicating with the Trillium teams in meeting customer quality related requirements
  • Timely resolution of non-conformances/complaints and implementation of improvements from internal & customer feedback.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of QMS systems and dealing with customers and supplier QMS systems.
  • Appropriate execution of project/contract related work.
  • Maintenance and development of the Q-Pulse system used to manage CAPA, documents, OFIs, audit and customer complaints.
  • Review of documentation from suppliers and internal departments, such as lifetime record packs & as builts.
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Integrated Management System
  • Production of Quality reports and Quality Metrics as required by the business units.
  • Assist the quality team in production of Quality Alerts and investigation reports.
  • Be the client point of contact for quality related matters.
  • Support Cost of Poor Quality Improvement Programmes with particular emphasis on supplier performance.
  • Driving and performing internal and supplier audit schedules, action plans and timely resolution of actions.
  • Create Project Specific Quality Plans and Quality Management Plans in accordance with client and project requirements.
  • Define Quality Surveillance requirements in conjunction with the client and project manager.
  • Attend key Hold/Witness points as defined in the contract Quality Plans.
  • Preparation and review of new equipment Quality documentation.
  • Review of all major Purchase Orders to ensure project quality requirements have been accurately defined.
  • Participate in Third Party Surveillance and Certification Audits.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications/Personal Attributes
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Lead Auditor certification is required and CQP MCQI professional qualifications are desired but not essential.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality Management Systems, investigations, and problem-solving techniques
  • Understanding of Inspection techniques and interpretation of results
  • Ability to lead on the development of QMS processes and systems.
  • Understands and able to break down complex or diverse information; gathers and processes data to identify problems, draw conclusions and propose solutions; able to consider different options and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations; works wellwith others to resolve problems and implement solutions.
  • Writes clearly and informatively; reviews work for accuracy and relevance; varies writing style to meet needs of audience; presents data effectively and in an understandable format.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; is objective and open to others views; provides and accepts constructive feedback; able to build positive morale; supports everyones efforts to succeed in achieving goals and objectives.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness; puts in place appropriate processes and controls to provide quality assurance.
  • Always performs work in a safe manner and observes safety and security procedures; avoids shortcuts that increase health and safety risks to self or others; reports potentially unsafe conditions and potential hazards; encourages and supports others to besafe while at work.
