Job Description

Job Title - MOT Inspector Salary - £26,000 - £31,000 per annumLocation - FalkirkI am currently working with a nationwide Bus operator in the Falkirk area who are now looking to expand their team with the addition of a qualified MOT Inspector.MOT Inspector Duties:

  • Maintain MOT gated process recording, reporting and follow up on any non-compliance, to the Senior Vehicle Examiners
  • Assist in the development of Vehicle Examiners by identifying and highlighting any non-compliance to SOPs and working closely with Senior Vehicle Examiner.
  • Maintain the group MOT pass rate at 98%.
  • Ensure that the ATF facility meets all DVSA test lane standards at all times.
  • To coordinate, monitor and effectively control the allocation of scheduled DVSA inspections carried out on site, including MOT slots for external customers.
  • Provide guidance to other staff as required.
  • Maintain effective internal/external relationships.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of the PSV Vehicle Testers Manual, The Categorisation of Defects Manual, The Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness and Technical Service Bulletins.
Requirements for MOT Inspector:
  • Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent (i.e., City & Guilds level 1 & 2).
  • To be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment including, hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlampalignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders and general portable equipment (i.e., air guns, drills, electric and pneumatic hand tools etc.) as required.
  • Current PSV Vehicle Examination Experience, SOP38 Trained or willing to attend training.
  • To have knowledge of the relevant legislations.
  • To have the necessary IT skills such as INFOR, MS 365, email and internet.
  • A PCV and forklift truck licence isnt essential, we can support you in gaining it
