Job Description

Machine Operator – Fixed TermThe Stewart Milne Group is one of the UK’s leading home builders, concentrating on building quality residential homes and commercial builds for a range of customers including government bodies, private and public companies, local councils and private clients. We operate throughout the United Kingdom and have three manufacturing plants, Witney Oxfordshire, Aberdeen Scotland and Falkirk Scotland with regional offices in Glasgow and Manchester.Due to further growth and increased production levels, Stewart Milne Timber Systems are looking to recruit a Machine Operator on a fixed term contract until the end of June 2021, to be based at our premises in Falkirk.Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be a key member of the Manufacturing Team, responsible for manufacturing timber frame or joinery components. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge within the role with a clear emphasis on safety; quality; and productivity.The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on a rotating shift basis:

  • Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm
  • Monday – Friday 2pm – 10pm
  • Essential Technical Expertise
  • A background in joinery, timber frame manufacture or timber frame erection is beneficial
  • Proven work experience of manual work as level of physical work will be required
  • Good knowledge and grasp of basic arithmetic
  • Ability to understand technical drawings is beneficial
  • Ability to organise resources, materials and to control material usage to minimise waste
  • Nail & power tools experience
