Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Store Delivery Driver to join our client’s team to contribute to their continued success.As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods from our distribution centre to various stores. Your primary goal will be to deliver goods in a timely and secure manner, maintaining the integrityof the products and providing excellent customer service.Key Responsibilities for an HGV Class 1 Driver include:

  • Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle to transport goods to designated store locations.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring that they are properly secured and organized within the vehicle.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Plan delivery routes, taking into consideration traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery and mileage records.
  • Comply with all relevant traffic and safety regulations, including hours of service and weight limits.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and store personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service by representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Use Telemetric and specific route plans.
  • Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety concerns to the maintenance department.
Requirements for an HGV Class 1 Driver include:
  • Valid HGV 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
  • Current CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Digital Tachograph Card.
  • A clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV driving regulations and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to load and unload goods.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Competition of a successful Driver Assessment.
