Job Description

Trustee role: Honorary TreasurerCould you use your professional background in finance or accounting to help the local hospice make a difference to the people of Devon

  • Unpaid volunteer role, reasonable expenses will be paid
  • Hospiscare operates throughout Exeter, Mid and East Devon
  • Time commitment: This role requires a time commitment of approximately 7 hours per month
  • Length of Appointment: All appointments are for an initial three-year term (renewable up to three times)
Hospiscare has been supporting people in Exeter, Mid and East Devon living with life-limiting illnesses for over 40 years. Our charitys expert doctors, nurses and therapists support around 2,500 people each year, in some of the hardest times possible.We are looking for an Honorary Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees, working alongside a range of skilled professionals who are passionate about the cause. This role would work closely with our Director of Finance and Governance in overseeing the financesand prosperity of our well-loved Devon charity.We are at an exciting point in our 40-year history: we are about to launch our next three-year strategy to develop our care and education, improve our recruitment and retention, ensure were fit for the future and increase our income.There are a number of challenges ahead, as all organisations are facing, with recruitment and the cost-of-living issues following on from the pandemic. But we are proud to be currently in a healthy position and this will be a key role in supporting the Boardof Trustees in making decisions for the future direction of the charity.
