Job Description

Technical Specialist & ICT Services ManagerPermanent PostBased at Service Headquarters, Clyst St George, Exeter37 hours per weekSalary: Grade 6 - Commencing Salary: £30507 per annum Closing Date: 9am on Friday 28 August 2020Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service are seeking to appoint a technical specialist to take responsibility for the ongoing management of a subset of our technical ICT services as a subject matter expert. You will also be part of the busy ICT technical team providing 2nd/3rd line support and maintenance to a broad range of ICT technologies.DSFRS is currently undergoing Digital Transformation and would like to hear from applicants who have experience in implementing and supporting some/all of the following technologies:

  • Azure, Office 365 and MSTeams
  • Exchange Server
  • Direct Access and Always On VPN
  • SharePoint
  • WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi
  • VMWare
  • Windows Server
  • Active Directory
  • Digital UHF Radios
  • SQL Server
  • System Centre
  • Dell Storage and Compute
  • Desktop Operating Systems
  • Corporate Printing Solutions
  • Smartphones and Airwatch MDM
  • The successful candidate will:
  • Have experience of working effectively within an ICT support team
  • Have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft enterprise software (Windows, Exchange, Active Directory and Azure)
  • Have a keen attention to detail
  • Take a continuous improvement approach to managing ICT services
  • Have a demonstrable knowledge of managing enterprise level services utilising best practice
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • The ability to work both as a member of a team and as an individual
