Job Description

We currently have a Wholesale Service Desk Team Manager position available for a motivated individual to join our team based in Exeter. Joining us on a full time, permanent basis, you will receive a starting salary of £22,704 per annum plus benefits.South West Water is part of the Pennon Group, a very successful and stable business which prides itself on sustainability. In return, we offer an excellent range of benefits which include: free car parking at the majority of our sites, company Sharesave Scheme, childcare support and various health benefits.The Wholesale Service Desk Team Manager will be responsible for Managing the Wholesale Service Desk (WSD) team ensuring that Market transactions are completed within SLA, in accordance with the Market and Operational Standards (MPS and OPS). This includes:
  • Ensuring requests between Retailers and South West Water are managed within timescales
  • Ensuring updates are completed on the Central Market Operating System (CMOS) on time
  • Managing data submissions between SWW and CMOS, including error message management
  • Managing the Jeopardy management system to ensure adherence to appropriate Service Level Agreement
  • Ensuring complaints submitted by the Retailer, on behalf of the Non-Household Consumer are investigated and substantively responded to, and that lessons are learned, and improvements implemented to achieve complaint reduction
  • Responsibilities as our Wholesale Service Desk Team Manager will include:
  • Lead, inspire and co-ordinate the Wholesale Service Desk team at all levels to create a motivated and high performing team
  • Liaise and work alongside the wider business to obtain information relating to non-household changes to core system data for update to the Market Operator platform
  • Ensure delivery of service excellence and processes to meet obligations of the Wholesale-Retail Code
  • Ensure delivery of our vision to be the leading wholesaler’
  • Actively contribute to champion Service Excellence, Data Insight, Market Improvement and Organisational capability
  • Drive change and influence projects to support improvements in data, issue resolution, and error reduction
  • Manage and review working practices, suggest and implement alternative ways of conducting work and ability to demonstrate this as a robust business case
  • Manage resources including ensuring effective deployment of staff and active jeopardy management to ensure contractual and performance requirements are met and potential failure avoided
  • Operate Jeopardy Management systems to provide oversight of adherence to Service Level Agreements
  • What we are looking for in our ideal Wholesale Service Desk Team Manager:
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience (desirable)
  • Customer Service experience
  • Performance management experience
  • People Management
  • Good presentation, negotiation and communication skills to influence change and improvements in process and performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills - persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
  • Able to plan and manage people and workloads in high pressure situations
  • Competent IT user
  • Project experience
  • Ability to develop/train the team to achieve results and implement personal development plans
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Can deliver timely, high quality output through effective leadership and appropriate delegation
