Job Description

Cathedral Appointments are seeking a Stock Control Manager for a 12 FTC on behalf of a vibrant and exciting company within the food industry based in Exeter. The successful candidate will be keen, eager and enthusiastic with Stock or Project Management experience. You will be a natural problem solver, be good with handling and manipulating data and be used to working in a fast moving environment.Responsibilities/accountabilities:Stock corrections/accurate stock keeping:

  • Administrate goods return postings in SAP following customer credit - ensure accurate stock records are kept.
  • Corrections of picking errors at 3PLs - be point of contact to investigate discrepancies
  • Batch corrections via the unpicking/correcting of previous transactions (avoiding automatic write off/write on)
  • Monthly stock reconciliations with 3PL providers.
  • Final sign off for stock suggestions put forward by Forecasting Manager, for stocked items.
  • Be directly involved in out of date stock management, including monthly meetings and reporting.
  • Proactively support other areas of supply chain (i.e. pricing, contract management etc)
    • Financial management:
  • Minimise stock holding value whilst ensuring optimal service level to clients.
  • Minimise stock write-off figure through effective stock management.
  • Advise strategy / minimise stock wastage through considered and strategic re-use potential of all stock.
  • Manage and recharge unexpected costs from third party suppliers.
    • Third party supplier management (storage & hauliers):
  • Evaluate, measure and review third party performance to optimise Customer Service through:
    • o Annual Service Level agreement and contract review.o Monthly service meetings to review OTIF sheet & other KPIs.o Optimising activity to minimise costs of unnecessary stock handling and/or movements.o Timely recharge of unexpected expenses for non-conformance/service failure.Customer service support:
  • Alongside technical, investigate penalty charges received for non-conformance
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and proactive customer communications (written and verbal) via BDMS or Customer Services for any stock shortages.
  • Keep internal stakeholders fully abreast of stock status.
    • System & Process Improvements
  • Proactive involvement in making recommendations for system & internal process improvement.
    • Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate a calm and pragmatic attitude.
  • To demonstrate a resourceful approach to trouble-shooting and problem solving.

  • Good Microsoft Office software knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
