Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help deliver an ambitious and exciting data transformation programme for one of our technology clients. The position is offered on a remote basis, but you will occasionally needto attend collaboration meetings at offices based in Exeter and/or Reading.This is a varied role - you will have responsibilities across Data Engineering and Data Insights/Data Analytics.The role would be ideal for someone who is keen to work across functions - you may be looking to move into a Lead Data Engineer or Data Architect role.You will be involved in creating Data as a Product (DaaP) solutions and you will be assisting our client with their journey into Data Lakehouse platforms and open data management architectures.This role involves the following key duties: -

  • Creating CI/CD deployment pipelines, developing data pipelines and designing/developing architectural solutions.
  • Designing and building cloud-based Data Architectures and Machine Learning Architectures that are the foundation of our customers solutions and data holdings.
  • Converting Data Science based prototypes into scalable Data Products.
  • Provide strong thought leadership as well as leading the delivery and rollout of an on-premises to cloud data migration project.
To be considered for the role you will need to be an excellent communicator, someone who is able to inspire, lead and mentor others and take them on this transformation journey. You will have the following:
  • Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including cloud data architectures, data transformation tools and data governance techniques.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of Quality and Information Security principles.
The essential skills required for this role are as follows: -
  • ETL Tools (such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks).
  • Python, PySpark, Spark SQL or SQL.
  • Knowledge of Data & Machine Learning Architecture Patterns.
  • Data Warehousing.
