Job Description

We are thrilled to have joined forces with Network Homes in October 2023, which now places us as the 6th largest housing association in the UK. Sovereign and Network Homes have come together as SNG (Sovereign Network Group) – an organisation that takes thebest of both and makes it even better.We strive to deliver safe, defect-free, high-quality homes and places for our customers. Were seeking a Quality Technical Advisor to monitor the quality and safety of new homes, working with contractors and agents to identify and prevent construction defects being incorporated into the build.The roleThis opportunity is based in our Exeter office, and will include a blend of on-site, home and office working, but there will be plenty of flexibility. As youll be visiting sites across our portfolio, a full UK drivers license and yourown transport is essential.This role is to monitor the construction of all new developments on site to ensure that SNGs standards for design and quality are achieved. You will undertake site inspections and produce written reports to monitor progress and quality of work on site.Responsibilities include:

  • Continually monitor the works on site to ensure that the quality of the construction meets SNGs standards.
  • Carry out inspections at completion of the homes and the preparation of snagging schedules.
  • Assist in finalising the design and specification for new developments
  • Assist in reviewing the Employers Requirements / Design Brief on a regular basis to continually improve the standards of new homes
What youll need
  • You will have up to date and relevant experience of new build construction processes and technical standards including NHBC and current Building Regulations.
  • A knowledge of CDM Regulations and H&S relating to construction
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Development Agreements and JCT Design & Build forms of contract is advantageous
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and plan your work effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and third parties
  • Proven experience of working to tight deadlines and producing accurate and detailed technical reports
