Job Description

Baltimore Consulting have been retained by Exeter City Group Ltd to appoint an Operations Director.About Exeter City Group:Based in Exeter, The Exeter City Group is made up a series of property related subsidiaries tasked to develop and deliver sustainable homes and buildings, both from a new build and retrofit perspective.The Company is wholly owned by Exeter City Council who are committed to transforming Exeter into a zero-carbon city by 2030, enhancing the commercial potential of the Council and its services and creating sustainable communities. Exeter City Groups vision is to develop and grow its subsidiaries so it can deliver over 1,000 new Passivhaus homes over the next 5 years, lead on the deep retrofit of the Councils 5,000 social housing estate, manage and maintain an evolving portfolio of up to 300 build to rent homes and the establishment of a consultancy team that will be a UK leader in sustainable development and consultancy. The Exeter City Group is ambitious, it has an established track record that is ready to be up scaled and broadened in what it can offer. The current team are passionate, energetic and motivated in transforming the lives of others through innovative and sustainable building and development and are now looking for an Operations Director to help deliver its wider visionYour role as Operations Director:

  • In this key strategic role, you will initially be responsible for managing and overseeing the day to day running of the group.
  • This will involve setting up the very foundations of the business through building resources / teams, utilising shared resources to deliver economies of scale, developing and implementing policies and processes.
  • You will optimise service level agreements, manage all KPIs and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • In addition, you will set up operational corporate structures, high level operating systems and processes, ensuring all subsidiaries operate efficiently.
    • Your experience as an Operations Director:
  • As an experienced Operations Director, you will have extensive knowledge of the housing and property sector and ideally will have worked for either a Housing Association and/or a Developer/Housebuilder, or in property consultancy.
  • Naturally, you will have excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience and be able to work in a positive, delivery focussed and collaborative way.
  • You will have had success in an operational or commercial leadership role at a senior level along with an environmental and commercial values alignment.
  • You will be team player as well as an exemplar leader, favouring collaborative working and engagement. You will have energy and drive and a real passion for making a difference to create a better planet.
