Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing company who specialise in telecommunications technology in the South West of England. They are currently seeking a Network Construction Supervisor to join their talented team in Exeter.The primary objective of this role is to design, build, accept and maintain FTTH, FTTX, ODN and Backhaul segments, and to supervise the activities of contractors and construction team employees.To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 5 years of cable installation project management.Responsibilities:

  • The design of FTTH, FTTx ODN and Backhaul segments using UG & utility pole routes, including identifying suitable locations for splice enclosures, splitters and redundant paths
  • Management of contractors engaged to perform OSP work; including Quality Acceptance to ensure that the deployed networks meet expectations and standards
  • Undertaking site surveys and field visits as required
  • Integration of the OSP network into a GIS platform, creating network documentation procedures and defining best practices for managing a fibre optic plant
  • Training and mentoring, including on-the-job training and presentations for/ to colleagues
  • Note that working safely is a continuing condition of employment. As a condition of employment, Construction Supervisors will be required to observe and fully comply with all HSE rules / policies / procedures and applicable legislative provisions as well as wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where and when applicable, and to ensure that team members and contractors under their supervision also work follow safety practices.
    • Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ construction experience within the Telecoms sector
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • NRSWA certificate for operatives (Desired)
  • CSCS Card
  • Cable Winching Qualification
  • HV / LV Cable Laying Qualification
  • Full valid driving licence
