Job Description

We assist all employers when they want to source public safety and enterprise security skills and experience.RSR are looking for a MOSOVO Support Officer.Job Summary:The responsibility of the MOSOVO Support Officer role is to provide a support function to the department as the main point of contact for MOSOVO and to complete appropriate and proportionate actions.Location: Exeter, Cornwall, South DevonContract: 2 monthsWork hours:Full timeSalary:£11.32 per hour PAYE - £14.48 per hour UmbrellaVacancies: 3Vetting:MVMain duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the MAPPA/MOSOVO mailbox, responding and actioning as appropriate.
  • Office management tasks including booking of training courses, vehicles and travel arrangements and arranging attendance for outstanding biometrics.
  • Undertake OASys Sexual (proven reoffending) Predictor (OSP) risk assessments and of violent offenders using OSP and all available information.
  • Ensure that the Violent and Sexual Offender Register (ViSOR) is updated with all relevant information regarding sexual and violent offenders and persons that pose a significant risk of causing serious harm to others. This includes completing ViSOR updateson behalf of Offender managers as they are completing enquiries and visits in the community in addition to the inputting of Active Risk Management System (ARMS) risk assessments, risk management plans and offender visit logs.
  • Ensure that actionable intelligence is recorded and, where necessary, developed, acted upon or disseminated to the appropriate officers or to the department.
  • Conduct open-source research in relation to information ascertained from Registered Sexual Offenders (RSOs) and the community as requested.
  • Collate information to brief the Detective Sergeant for MAPPA meetings and conduct research tasks linked to MAPPA meeting actions, in addition to other briefing items for the department.
  • Support and occasionally represent the police at meetings conducted under Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA), having completed the appropriate research to be able to share information effectively, as required.
  • Maintain good working relations with other partner agencies, providing active input to MAPPA meetings, implementing actions from those meetings where appropriate, and contributing to other multi-agency arrangements as required.
  • Understand the information sharing agreements, legislation, policy and formal working practices which relate to MAPPA and to ensure that decisions made within MAPPA protocols do not commit the Police Service to action which cannot be delivered.
  • Support the gathering of information and intelligence in relation to MAPPA offenders or Potentially Dangerous Persons (PDPs), ensuring that all relevant IT systems are updated with appropriate information.
  • Providing support and advice to officers on legislation, policy and tactical matters (covert and overt options) pertaining to RSOs, and the investigation of sexual offences.
  • Investigate breaches of notification requirements and court orders relating to their MAPPA status and provide information to interviewing officers.
  • Complete necessary applications and referrals to support ongoing investigations or as pro-active enquiries, including SPOC applications in relation to Telecommunication data and Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) referrals.
  • Assist in Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and breach of Sexual Offence Register (SOR) investigations, through advice, gathering and providing information.
  • Liaise with Probation and enhance information sharing to identify and mitigate risk.
Essential
  • Proven investigative ability.
  • Understanding of the NIM and intelligence processes, including ability to research and develop information from Force systems.
  • Ability to manage records and understand file management
  • Experience of working with other agencies to identify and manage risk.
  • Experience of working with minimal supervision and to organise/prioritise own workload.
