Job Description

Junior Mechanical Engineer (CAD)Exeter£28,000 - £30,000 + 24 days holiday + Flexitime + benefits + excellent career development opportunitiesAre you a recently graduated Mechanical Engineer with CAD experience looking for a new and exciting challenge with a well-established manufacturing company supplying to clients globallyAre you looking to progress your career and learn within a leading local manufacturing environmentReporting to the Group Design Manager you will work within a team of Design Engineers and be responsible for the support of the design and specification of new products across the Group, along with any on-going enhancement modifications of current products.You will generally progress design projects and be part of a key team that helps to ensure our new products successfully achieve their target launch dates. The role:

  • Work closely with the development, production engineering and design teams, taking a new product design brief from concept through to creating accurate detailed engineers manufacturing drawings.
  • Ensure that the drawn specifications allow products to fit together on the production line, taking into consideration appropriate material specification production tolerances.
  • Ensure new product BOMs and xls spreadsheets are generated and kept up to date to allow Production Engineers to generate acute full and complete new product costings.
  • New product progress feedback and sign off sheets are to be filled out and kept up to date to show the progress of new product development.
  • Liaise with a number of departments to ensure the smooth running and production of items.

  • Mechanical Engineering and CAD experience in a manufacturing environment
