Junior BuyerExeterFrom £25kExcellent Benefits and Progression OpportunityThe CompanyA manufacturer and wholesaler of agricultural spare parts and accessories.What is the purpose of the Junior Buyer roleProactively manage all purchasing activity for the extensive and diverse product portfolio of this high SKU international wholesale distribution business. As a junior buyer you will be responsible to manage 20+ vendors across UK and Europe. The role will involvemanagement of vendor relationship and working closely with the Global Commodity Managers to deliver value for the business.What will be the responsibilities of the Junior Buyer* Responsible for delivery of Purchasing cost reductions through effective sourcing and negotiation with suppliers.* Work with individual commodity managers on global sourcing strategy. Identify and communicate supplier diversity opportunities for a given commodity.* Developing supplier relationships in existing and new territories.* Continuous search of new suppliers according to different commodity strategies.* Day to day supporting the internal stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Quality, Product and Marketing) by providing a high-quality service efficiently.* Managing, developing and improving the end to end purchasing function to obtain maximum value (cost, quality and service) from your supplier base.* Analysing vendor performance failures, identifying causal factors and implementing appropriate corrective actions.* Engaging and assisting with ongoing parts re-sourcing and group co-sourcing programmes and initiatives.* Continually assessing and reviewing the supply base capability to deliver price, quality and service excellence to the business and evaluating opportunities and risks.* Regularly reporting to line management on work status, initiatives and ongoing projects.What skills and experience will the Junior Buyer have* Previous experience within a similar role is essential.* Good working knowledge of multinational business practice* Excellent prioritisation skills with the ability to plan and organise effectively* Able to work in a pressurised fast paced environment* Strong communication and interpersonal skills* IT competence including Microsoft Office applicationsWhat will the Junior Buyer get in returnFrom £25k25 days holiday plus bank holidays6% contributory pensionSubsidised medical insuranceLife InsuranceCycle to work schemeCompany profit share after 2 yearsStaff discount
