Job Description

We are proud to be Recruiting on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police for an Investigation Support Administrator.The role in question is fully remote, the initial training period will have to be in person at the police station, however, after this you would be working from home full time.The principal responsibility of the Investigation Support Officer is to provide an administrative support function to BCU & LPA investigation units and Crime departments ensuring administrative requirements of the departments are managed efficiently andeffectively, enabling investigators to focus on their primary roles in relation to the management of criminal investigations.The Details:Salary: 10.64 an hourLocation: Remote working from home, Initial training at Middlemoor police stationDuration: TemporaryHours: 37The Duties:

  • Review and redaction of documentary material whether stored digitally or in paper format under the direction of the OIC and in accordance with AGG/DG and NFS in order that it may be supplied to the CPS in a timely manner.
  • Provision of properly redacted digital and documentary material in accordance with AGG/DG and NFS and local policies.
  • Assist investigators where needed with all file submission processes to the CPS and CPSD engaging with CJU and other relevant departments including Digital Video Unit (DVU) and Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) where necessary utilising the appropriate InformationTechnology (IT) as required.
  • Redaction of case file material in accordance with current guidance
  • Provide advice and guidance
  • Prevent loss of personal data in compliance with GDPR and expedites file submission.
Skills and requirements:
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and produce accurate work under time pressures
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal and professional integrity, trust and responsibility.
  • A tenacious, methodical and precise approach to work, paying particular attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise work and adjust workload to accommodate urgent tasks and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic IT skills.
