Job Description

Graduate - Engineering Development ProgramExcellent salary on offer +great development opportunitiesMy client is a world-class producer of high precision aerospace components. Due to continued growth within the business, they are now looking for a motivated and hard-working Graduate for the Engineering Development Program to join the team. The role would also suit a graduate in materials science/engineering, metallurgy or other engineering discipline. The programme is 18 months in duration which includes two/three placements throughout the UK.Graduate for the Engineering Development Program Job Description

  • Analyse processes, and examine scrap to recommend different methods of improving casting yield (improving productivity)
  • Characterise castings with metallography, mechanical tests, and chemical analyses to help determine variability and to assure customers that castings will have the desired properties
  • Completing chemical analysis and release testing in good time
  • Implement technological advances in existing processes:
  • work with manufacturing to improve current processes
  • Graduate for the Engineering Development Program Essential Skills/Experience/Qualification Required
  • Experience in a highly pressurised business or delivery setting
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Deliver results individually and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent planning/organisational skills and attention to detail
  • At least a 2.1 in Metallurgy
  • General knowledge of physical metallurgy, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and processes such as steel making, casting, forging, welding and joining etc.
  • Analytical capabilities and preferably have some practical Laboratory experience and possess good organisational and communication skills.
  • Graduate for the Engineering Development Program Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualification Required
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience working in an engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of lost wax casting / precision casting
  • some knowledge of metal and ceramic properties
