Job Description

Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting an Electrical Development Engineer for a well-known manufacturing company based in Exeter. Reporting to the Electric Product Development Manager, you will join a very innovative Research and Development team, taking project from initial design brief through to full development and into production.Responsibilities:

  • Able to build, develop and test products to the relevant industry standards whilst meeting the companies design principles and specifications.
  • Able to keep detailed development and test records for every new product design and/or modification.
  • Ability to communicate project status and any issues to relevant parties.
  • Able to use machine tools and workshop facilities to aid development.
  • Maintain and improve upon personal skills relating to the role, through experience and training.
  • Support other departments with electrical design, good practise and fault-finding.
    • Requirements:
  • Proven background in the design of electric appliances.
  • Electrical engineer qualification at NVQ/HNC/ONC or higher level
  • An aptitude for solving problems and formulating solutions.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical/electronic control system design and development
  • The ability to produce and work with new ideas, innovative solutions and concepts to deliver a highly decorative product is essential.
  • Must be able to interpret and apply relevant industry standards to final designs.
  • Have the ability to understand and work to task-specific risk assessments and COSHH/MSDS Datasheets.
