Job Description

We’re looking for a Drug and Alcohol Worker to join our community team working in Exeter.Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Drug and Alcohol Workers deliver an integrated service through the provision of comprehensive and ongoing assessment, recovery planning, appropriate referral/linkage and psychosocial interventions for substance misuse.Drug and Alcohol Worker Reference number: 75.20 Based: Exeter Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week Salary: £18,685 to £23,230 per annum depending on experience Contract: PermanentIn this role you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating service users to engage in the recovery programmes we offer in Devon, as well as become involved in the communities they live in. Day to day duties will involve delivering a range of interventions including key-working, strengths based assessment, and structured group and 1:1 work. You will also be required to liaise effectively with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key working and access to appropriate services.What we’re looking forWe’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience working in a similar role - including undertaking assessments and delivering substance misuse interventions in 1:1 and group settings
  • Good understanding of group working and group dynamics
  • Competent group facilitation skills
  • Some knowledge and understanding of mental health issues
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritise and carry a diverse workload with competing demands
