Job Description

We’re looking for a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker to join our multi-disciplinary community team working in Exeter.Drug and Alcohol Recovery WorkerBased: ExeterHours: Full time, 35 hours per weekSalary: £18,685 to £23,230 per annum depending on experienceContract: Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover until Sept 2021)In this role you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating service users to engage in the recovery programmes we offer in Devon, as well as become involved in the communities in which they live.Day to day duties will include:- Delivering triage and comprehensive strength-based assessments, harm reduction and brief interventions- Delivering evidence based psychosocial interventions (group & 1:1)- Carrying a caseload providing effective key working- Undertaking collaborative recovery planning and reviews and making appropriate referral/linkage to partnership agencies- Risk assessment and risk management planning- Proactively supporting service users to participate in a range of recovery, psychosocial and support activitiesWhat we’re looking forWe’re looking for someone with:- Experience working in a similar role - including undertaking assessments and delivering substance misuse interventions in 1:1 and group settings- Understanding of group working and group dynamics- Competent group facilitation skills- Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills- The ability to prioritise and carry a diverse workload with competing demandsYou’ll be keen to develop professionally and, just as importantly, will have a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive recovery focused attitude.About EDPEDP Drug & Alcohol Services is a thriving charity providing services across Devon and Dorset, in the community and within prisons.
