A unique opportunity has arisen for a Divisional Business Manager for the Nightingale Hospital Exeter (NHE).This is a fantastic opportunity to join the senior leadership team and provide outstanding care to patients with COVID-19 across the Southwest peninsula at the NHE.NHE is the seventh and most recent Nightingale Hospital to be commissioned by the NHS to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the build is complete, NHE will remain on standby, ready to receive patients at 7 days’ notice should the need arise in the coming months. NHE is part of the region’s plan for an integrated response to COVID-19.NHE has 72 ward based care beds, split into three wards; Poppy, Daisy and Clover. There are also two wards (44 beds) to support patients on mechanical ventilation; Buttercup and Campion. The roleThis role will manage the day to day operational function of the NHE including coordinating clinical support and facilities with relevant heads of service across the host Trust, across 5 contributing Trusts and with external parties. This will incorporate responsibilities for operational function in both COVID stand-by status and the alternative uses of NHE, so this is a fixed term contract until end of March 2021.This role is to provide assurance to the Nightingale division and the host Trust on the achievement and maintenance of operational performance targets including patient safety, quality, and the finances of NHE. This will involve identifying, escalating and communicating areas of concern and agreeing action plans with the relevant heads of services. This role will be integral in interpreting the strategic direction of the Nightingale Board into an operational plan and so will work closely with the divisional management team and wider system stakeholders to achieve this. The post-holders will manage the operational day to day function of NHE and will line manage the Operational Support Co-ordinator and deputise for the Divisional Director, as required. The Nightingale Reservist approachNormally, successful applicants appointed to the NHE team become Nightingale Reservists.
