Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an organised and knowledgeable Depot Supervisor to join our team based in Exeter.Here at Oak Furnitureland our mission is to ensure every home can have high-quality, stylish furniture at accessible prices - sold and delivered in a way thats right for our customers.As a successful Depot Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the management of the logistics functions within a team environment and ensuring that all Operation and Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.You will be a positive team player and be confident in driving if required also.Main responsibilities of a Depot Supervisor:

  • Work and manage all colleagues to comply with standard operating procedures in line with company policies, achieving company and absence management KPIs and building the right can do depot culture
  • Planning of drivers routes in line with the Working Time Directive - sourcing staff from 3rd party agencies ensuring these are planned and managed in line with flex in volume and budgeted costs
  • Deal with outbound vehicles following the correct company procedure
  • Ensure vehicles are loaded on time in a safe, presentable manner
  • Ensure all vehicles have relevant handling equipment, straps, and blankets for delivery crews
  • Maintain the depot at all times to acceptable standards of housekeeping and lead by example to a high level of Health & Safety awareness/compliance and action any areas of concern
  • Manage and develop the team whilst promoting improvement initiatives

Essential Skills
  • Previous experience in a transport/warehouse environment with a passion for the customer experience, as this is what sets our delivery teams apart from the rest!
  • An organised and methodical problem-solver with good knowledge of EU Driving Hours
Desirable Skills
  • Able to use routing software and Taco systems
  • Previous experience within a logistics two-man home delivery environment
  • A CPC qualification is desirable but not essential to this Depot Supervisor role
