Job Description

The Data Analyst is responsible for assisting with the delivery of high quality efficient and compliant data analysis to the business and customers. The Data Analyst will assist in the architecture of jobs and projects for customers, assess the validity and accuracy of data and resolve data quality issues to ensure it is fit for purpose.Department informationEquiniti Data is a leading marketing data services business and part of Equiniti PLC, a FTSE 250 Financial Services company.   • Customer order design and estimation, providing options and solutions for specific requirements. Communicating and sharing data volumes with commercial and customer colleagues, providing explanations as necessary.
  • Carry out exploratory data analysis (EDA) on new customer files. Use matching techniques to establish links with EQ Amplify or other data sets, to derive insight into the composition of the customer data. Identify trends, patterns or traits which merit further attention. Convey the findings to commercial and customer colleagues.
  • Execute and deliver customer data outputs following best practice processes. Apply data models, suppressions and add seeds. Design and carry out QC processes, also involving relevant team members.
  • Processing and ensuring the application of suppression and exclusions as required by partners, customers and regulations.
  • Carry out product build and refresh cycles, processing information from multiple sources, running cleaning and deduping processes, and finally merging and selection of data.
  • Post-Project analytics, working with customer provided result files, to determine the success factors in a given activity. Provide feedback on recommendations, next steps or further iterations.
  • Create data visuals to display findings from EDAs, modelling or general activity analysis. Deliver using PowerBI, Excel or other interactive and distributable methods. Geospatial analysis (QGIS or ArcGIS) is occasionally used.
  • Use the internally developed AutoML technology to run models to determine the most appropriate data to use in specific client deliveries.
  • Skills, qualifications and knowledgeYou will be have strong skills in one (or both) of the following:
  • Use of SQL, preferably with experience in SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar.
  • Use of Python for data modelling/statistical analysis or process automation.
  • You will also have:
  • Experience in project work for internal and external customer requirements.
  • An excellent problem solver, with a fine attention to detail.
  • Be process driven, with strong analytical skills and a high degree of numeracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and customers of varying skill and knowledge levels.
  • Ability to effectively manage own time and workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in a relevant subject, such as Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science would be desirable.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
