Job Description

Looking for a role where you can really make a difference in someones life How about helping to save one Were looking for devoted individuals to work as Customer Response Advisors for a leading private personal alarm company that helps people stay safein their homes. Youd be a vital support to many vulnerable people and help reassure their loved ones.Package and Benefits of a Response Call Handler:

  • Salary: £19,785 per annum
  • Location: Exeter, with ability to travel to Ashburton
  • Contract: Permanent
  • You will be required to work unsociable hours such as weekends, bank holidays and evening shifts
  • Youll initially be committing to a 2 weeks training period (5 full days a week) as well as an upskilling 2-week full-time training period further into their employment, during their probationary period of 6 months. This training will take place at their offices in Ashburton - once completed, the role will be based in their Exeter
  • Allowances and shift pay for working unsociable hours
  • There may be the opportunity to work from home on some shifts once you have passed the six months probation satisfactorily
  • This role will be subject to a Basic DBS check
Key Responsibilities of a Response Call Handler:
  • Receive and evaluate inbound calls from customer alarm systems and ensure that the customer is dealt with effectively, and in accordance with company procedures
  • Appropriately responding to emergency situations by calling the fire, police or ambulance services
  • Accurately recording details of all calls received
  • Communicating with care for people with memory loss, difficulty thinking, problem-solving, or speak impairments
  • Guiding web sale customers through the process of installing and testing their new alarm system and remotely programming/ monitoring equipment for customers
  • Out of Hours service, which includes liaising with field advisers to attend urgent alarm faults, escalating to duty manager urgent alarm faults. Covering customer services
Skills and Experience of a Response Call Handler:
  • The Response Centre operates on a 24-hour basis and as such you will be required to work unsociable hours such as weekends, bank holidays and evening shifts
  • Good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence to problems and difficult situations calmly and effectively
  • Proven working to a good standard with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good attention to detail and demonstrable analytical skills with the ability to evaluate information quickly
  • Flexible and adaptive to change
  • Emotional capacity to support and advise vulnerable groups whilst offering them patience and understanding
  • Willingness to go the extra mile
