A Conveyancing Assistant is sought by this national developer to join its successful and growing In House Legal Department (IHLD). We build quickly and efficiently and expect a lot from our office and site teams, however in turn we’ll reward you for your commitment and hard work and recognise your contribution to the business.The RoleThis role involves: Reporting to a Company Solicitor and Legal Manager Direct responsibility for assisting a conveyancer with their case load of plot sales (including part-exchange acquisitions and resales) Assisting the conveyancer to ensure that files are conducted efficiently so as to achieve exchanges within the required timescales Assisting with preparing individual plot documentation and Part Exchange title reports using standard forms Assisting the conveyancer with compilation of reports for regional and national boards Attending meetings with the sales teams to review caseload Dealing with lease/transfer variations and reversion sales Dealing with post completion matters such as SDLT returns and Land Registration where necessaryWe require:Someone who has knowledge of residential conveyancing, practice and procedure (including the Government’s Help to Buy scheme). Previous experience of handling plot sales for a residential house builder (either in house or in private practice) would be a distinct advantage. It is essential that you are computer literate, motivated, adaptable, have good team and communication skills and a confident telephone manner. You will be expected to work without secretarial support, in a calm manner, be organised and be capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.What’s in it for youThe salary will be dependent upon your level of experience but will be reviewed each July.
