Job Description

CIVIL ENGINEERThis is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a highly regarded, award winning Civil and Structural Engineering team in Exeter. This relatively new office has grown organically into a team of over 25, including Civil and Structures, Transportation,and Geo-environmental teams.As an ICE approved employer, our client can support your professional development in working towards either Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. Their in-house Supervising Civil Engineers and Delegated Engineers will be pleased to support your training.Your role will include:

  • Collaborating as a member of a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy.
  • Operating across a range of projects
  • Undertaking scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs and project coordination.
  • Working in a design office environment, while also playing an active role in design and site meetings, site inspections and progress reporting.
  • Good communication and effective liaison with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory/statutory authorities are therefore considered key attributes.
What they are looking for
  • BEng, MEng, HND or HNC Civil Engineering qualification, with at least two years experience gained in a civil engineering design office environment.
  • Working knowledge of Section 104, 278 and 38 adoption procedures.
  • Excellent analysis and technical design skills in AutoCAD, PDS, Civils3D and MicroDrainage.
  • Experience working with residential developers.
  • Working knowledge of the SAB Approval process and SuDS-led design principles and details.
  • Knowledge of UK planning procedures and experience of providing technical support to secure planning approval.
  • Experience of securing technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities.
  • Confident written and verbal communicator.
  • Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
