Job Description

A lovelyprivately owned and staff-led company is offering arare opportunity to oversee day-to-day accounting operations while actively contributing to the growth and success of thebusiness. The team are seeking an experienced Accountant to join thesuccessful team in Exeter. This role is ideal for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual with a passion for accounting and business development. Day to day of the role:

  • Perform and manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, vehicle creditors and debtors, bank reconciliations, and stocking loans.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, providing monthly and daily figures to management to track target progress.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts, including balance sheets and cash flow statements, to provide insights into business performance.
  • Handle Payroll processing, PAYE, and HMRC submissions.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for business growth and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, including preparing for financial audits.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • ACCA, ACA, AAT4 or similar professional qualification, or working towards it.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
